What Goes in Organics?
- Grass clippings and yard waste
- Uncoated food-soiled paper products such as paper napkins and plates
- Food — leftovers, spoiled fruit, coffee grounds, egg shells, and chicken bones
Keep these items OUT!
- Coated paper products such as coffee cups and paper plates that are shiny.
- Diapers
- Rocks, dirt/soil, and concrete
- Dead animals and animal poop (yes, poop is a no-no)
- Plastic of any kind, including plastic labeled “biodegradable” or “compostable”
